MJ Roofing Green Building

MJ Roofing - environmentally green building

MJ Roofing is committed to protecting natural resources by integrating environmentally friendly materials and practices into our entire operation. We recycle metal flashings, lumber and containers. Our reclaimed rooftop gravel is donated and used in road construction and repair.

Clients participating in our Maintenance Program are alerted to small problems which are quickly repaired, prolonging the life of their roofs. This cuts down on waste, use of resources and the amount of material taken to the landfill.

Another Green initiative we take pride in is that our own Winnipeg facility was among the first ten in the province to receive the Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada (BOMA) BESt Certification, resulting in MJ Roofing being recognized with the federal CIPEC Leadership Award for Corporate Stewardship.

BOMA BESt is a national environmental recognition and certification program for existing commercial buildings. It recognizes best practices in creating healthier workplaces, sustainable building development and management practices, energy consumption and operating costs reductions through reduced energy used and improvement in waste management. Certification serves as a tangible assessment of a building's superior performance. To date more than 30 buildings in Manitoba have achieved the certification, including MJ Roofing in Winnipeg.
